A note from the organizers:

The Toronto Youth Shorts Film Festival is returning for our 3rd year to showcase the work of local emerging filmmakers from the Greater Toronto Area and we have a lot of opportunities for Centennial students to get involved!

First up is the return of the T24 Project, our own 24 hour film challenge. Unlike other similar challenges, we ask filmmakers to create work not based on silly props or oddly written lines of dialogue but rather on a challenge question we provide them on the Toronto experience. For one night, Toronto will become the cinematic playground for youth as they tell their stories about the city. Completed entries will be screened at the 2011 Toronto Youth Shorts Film Festival and are eligible for prizes. The challenge takes place on the evening of April 29 - perfect for students since it's after exams!

Second is our general call for submissions where we are accepting films and new media work made by artists between the ages of 18-28 in the GTA. Whether it is heartwarming dramas, zany comedies, informative documentaries, out-of-this-world experimental work or whimsical animations, we would like to see what the young filmmakers and video artists in the GTA have to offer! Selected films have the opportunity to receive industry feedback, network with their peers at our events and compete for thousands of dollars in prizes!

Attached is the information for both the T24 Project and the general festival submissions. For more information about the festival and the T24 Project, visit our website at www.torontoyouthshorts.ca. I look forward to seeing the work of Centennial students.

Best,
